Love God | Love Learning | Love Self | Love Others
The St. Cyril faculty and staff are dedicated to a balanced approach in learning. As such, teachers are committed to educating the whole child beyond the basic curriculum. Opportunities for social and interpersonal growth are integrated into everyday school life. In addition to core subjects in Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, we also offer classes in Music, Art, Theater, PE, Spanish and Robotics.
Grades K-5 are common core aligned in math, reading and language arts. Junior High is a balance between California standards-based instruction and Common Core. In alignment with the high schools that our students attend after graduation, instruction in junior high is designed to accommodate the demands of the high school and the current trends in Common Core curriculum.
Technology is integrated into the curriculum. Currently, we have available to our students and teachers: an Innovation Lab, a dedicated Science Lab, MacBook airs, iPad cart (for lower elementary), and one-to-one iPads for student in 5th-8th grades. Additionally, all classrooms have a SmartBoard or SmartTV. Minecraft.edu, robotics, and virtual reality classes are offered in Jr. High, as well as programming class after school for younger grades.
St. Cyril has a robust after school sports program. We offer flag football for the boys and volleyball for the girls during the fall season. In the winter, we have basketball for girls and boys. In the spring, we have track & field, girls’ softball and boys’ volleyball. We also have a swim team for K-8th grades. Track for grades 3rd-8th is also available. Extra curricular activities include Student Council, California Junior Scholastic Federation, altar servers, community outreach, academic decathlon, mock trial, and a variety of other opportunities in subject areas such as science, math and the performing and visual arts.
